It depends on what time period the interview was in. The term “Native American” is extremely new and English may not have even been this Chieftains native language. Even Malcolm X referred to his people as “Negroes” before the term became socially taboo……TheGift

I can’t say I agree. It depends on what time period the interview was in. The term “Native American” is extremely new and English may not have even been this Chieftains native language. Even Malcolm X referred to his people as “Negroes” before the term became socially taboo……TheGift
